Marrakech, Morocco...

Ourika Valley is just outside Marrakech, it was a really relaxing day - and nice to spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city - it's quite high up in the Atlas Mountains and has stunning views and really lovely, welcoming people. It's full of gardens, palm and fruit trees and very scary man made bridges!! It had cafes and tiny stalls all the way up the valley - I even passed one tiny cafe that had table and chairs actually in the river so that you could eat and keep your feet cool at the same time!

Koutoubia Mosque...

Towering the main square in Marrakech is the Koutoubia Mosque, the tallest building in the city. These lovely signs were dotted all over the city.

Shopping at the Souks, Marrakech...

The best part of the trip for me was the Djemaa el Fna (the main focus of the city) it's a large open space full of entertainers and food sellers. Along the alleyways adjacent to Djemaa el Fna are the souks, these are alleyways with shops side by side, which are the soul of the city. The different souks are for different items. The Souk Smata is for leather goods such as slippers, bags and belts. Souk Addadaine is full of metal works and crafts. Each little stall is full of beautiful colours and a very deter mind little man who wants to sell you his traditional slipper, lantern or pot! - visiting the souks was a truly worthwhile experience and if I had space in my suit case - I would of bought one of everything!

Portobello road ...

I visited Portobello Road for the first time a few weeks ago - which i really loved! Every Saturday the Road plays host to one of the most prestigious markets in England. Although, known for its Antique market, it was full of a very young, flamboyant crowd! These Victorian multi - coloured houses just looked so beautiful!

A beautiful apartment...

As I'm currently moving house, I'm on the look out for anything that's going to inspire me to decorate my bedroom, when I came across this beautiful apartment on Micasa I knew I had to share it with everyone! This is 'in my opinion' the perfect bedroom...white walls, bold colors spattered throughout, a mix of all good things vintage, mid-century and ethnic and how stunning is that ornate mirror...I wish!

Her father, a craftsman began sending her carved spoons in little packages, Nikole loved them and thought that others would too, so she and her father began Herriott Grace.

Sideshow Press

Sideshow Press is a letterpress company based in South Carolina who have been creating handcrafted letterpressed goods since 2004, they design and press each piece individually - their work is just beautiful, i don't think anything else gives artwork such a distinctive, tactile quality as a letterpress does. They have also got a lovely website with beautiful photography. I love the type on the go green hemp bags and the tea bags - which were a simple invite for an afternoon tea in celebration of a baby's birth...stunning!

Fashion Wales Live 2010

Fashion Wales Live 2010 was yet again a fantastic night this year. The Live Fashion, Music and Art Charity had a variety of entertainment acts from singers, rappers, break dancers to designers, hair & make-up artists and celebrity guests. Collections covered everything from Funk to Couture by talented local designers including work by students from the University of Wales, Newport School of Art Media & Design and Coleg Gwent. The event was supported by Urban Circle Productions, which are the biggest voluntary youth initiative outside council led projects in the South Wales area, they help towards enhancing support for young people of all ages and abilities, a charity that's well worth supporting. I hope it will be even bigger and better next year!

Knitted...

At the moment I'm completely obsessed with anything that's knitted, i visited the Wonderwool show on Saturday and saw so many lovely things (mostly gorgeous organic wool!) I bought myself some natural wool and felt to make big cushions - I'm hoping I'll be able to follow some kind of simple pattern for the front of the cushions! I love these lights from 'ilot llov', each light is covered in a knitting cozy that's perfect for hanging above a bed.

'Platinum' is a unique brand on the Russian market. It’s the 1st trade mark that offers rare sorts of cereals from all over the world. I love this packaging designed by Kian, i think it looks really striking and unique, the textured grains make a lovely simple symbol.

Rustic Charm

I found these stunning photographs of Helena and Pelle Hallgren's lovely tranquil home in Gävle via skona hem, i think it's the result of a perfect interior design team — she comes up with the ideas, and he creates them. Both love white rustic interiors — spaces that are calm, but with a history. Their home is a wonderful mix of heirloom pieces, fleamarket finds and basics from Ikea — plus what Pelle has built himself, such as the kitchen table and the headboard in the bedroom. With a balcony herb garden on hand for adding snippets of fragrant flavour to the cooking, their home really is a happy and comfortable one.

Blooming Collections...

I fell in love with this Lotus Flower Chandelier the moment I saw it. Made of capiz shell edged in metal, and available in two different sizes, I think it transforms any room into an elegant space. When lit from within the pendants shimmer and shine like stained glass.

Anthropologie chairs are so pretty, the 'Conservatory Chair' is entirely handcrafted with natural mango wood and embroidered hothouse flowers, perfect accent chair!

Minimalism and Simpleness...

The interior trends at the moment are all about soft minimalism and industrial simpleness, all that I want my future house to be! Layers of white, lots of light, industrial lighting, rough and rustic, then when I saw these photographs, i was reminded of how much i love beautiful, simplistic interiors. The photos are styled by Kråkvik & D'Orazio, and shot by the amazing Norwegian photographer Siren Lauvdal.
